is it possible to view photos as a slide show….it is kind of cumbersome to keep clicking on each picture.

As a matter of fact it is possible. When you are viewing the Photo Gallery for say, the 2009 December Outing, found here . You can click on where it says “View with PicLens” in the upper left hand corner of the screen beneath the date.
This will present you with a slideshow view, as well as a full-screen option.
